Characteristics and application scope

Standard: (JIS 4404)

Since SKT4 steel contains molybdenum, it is not sensitive to temper brittleness.

After slow cooling from 600℃, the impact toughness is only slightly reduced.

SKT4 steel has good hardenability.

After 300mm×400mm×300mm large steel, the hardness of each part of the cross section is almost the same after oil quenching at 820℃ and tempering at 560℃.

This kind of steel is used to manufacture various large and medium-sized forging dies.

This kind of steel is easy to form white spots, and the smelting process and cooling system after forging and rolling need to be strictly controlled.

Heat treatment specifications: Quenching, 830～860℃ oil cooling.

Delivery status: Steel is delivered in annealed state.

SKT4 Steel Main Applications

Suitable for manufacturing various large and medium-sized hammer forging dies and trimming dies with complex shapes, large impact loads, not too high working temperatures, and side lengths greater than 400mm.

It is used to manufacture simple shapes.
