JIS SKH54 Steel is a high-hardness and wear-resistant tool steel with excellent cutting performance and wear resistance.

This steel is based on SKH54 with increased carbon and vanadium content, and its main properties (surface hardness, high temperature hardness, wear resistance, and heat resistance) have been improved.

It can maintain high hardness (above 60HRC) even under high heat generated by high-speed cutting (about 500℃).

SKH54 has the characteristics of high red hot hardness, high wear resistance and cutting ability, high impact toughness, fine and uniform grains, and high toughness.

JIS SKH54 Steel is widely used in the field of metal cutting, especially for processing difficult-to-cut high-hardness materials such as refractory metals, steel alloys, and stainless steel.

It is usually used to make cutting tools such as milling cutters, drill bits, planers, cutting knives, etc., and is widely used in aerospace, automobile manufacturing, mold processing and other industries.

JIS SKH54 Steel is relatively difficult to process due to its high hardness.

Common machining processes include high-speed friction machining (HSM) and electric discharge machining (EDM) to ensure tool accuracy and life.
