DIN EN/DIN 42CrMo4 is an industrial material with high strength, hardenability, good toughness, small deformation, easy machinability, easy polishing, biting and electroplating.

It is suitable for forging, rolling and casting to manufacture high-strength parts, such as locomotive transmission gears, oil deep well drill pipe joints and salvage tools.

Heat treatment is a crucial part of the processing of DIN EN/DIN 42CrMo4 cold work alloy tool steel.

After annealing, the hardness of the steel can be reduced to below HBW: 217, which facilitates subsequent processing.

During the quenching process, the steel is heated at 800℃ and rapidly cooled with an OIl cooling medium to obtain the required hardness and microstructure.

Subsequently, the steel is tempered at 180℃ to improve its toughness and fatigue resistance.

After heat treatment, the hardness of DIN EN/DIN 42CrMo4 can reach more than HRC 50, meeting various application scenarios with high hardness requirements.
