Forging (if necessary)

For some forging SNCM220 steel with higher performance requirements, it may be necessary to forge the blank to improve the internal structure of the steel and improve its mechanical properties.

During the forging process, attention should be paid to controlling the heating temperature and forging ratio.

Normalizing: Heat the steel plate to an appropriate temperature (usually 850-900℃), keep it warm for a certain period of time, and then cool it in the air to refine the grain and improve the cutting performance.

Quenching: Heat to the quenching temperature (usually 820-860℃), keep it warm and then cool it quickly to obtain high hardness and high strength, but the internal stress of the steel plate is large after quenching, and it needs to be tempered in time.

Tempering: According to the performance requirements of the parts, select the appropriate tempering temperature (usually between 150 - 650℃) for tempering to eliminate quenching stress and improve toughness and stability.
