Determine reasonable tempering temperature and time:

The tempering temperature of DIN C45 steel plate is generally between 500℃ - 650℃.

The higher the tempering temperature, the lower the hardness of the material, but the toughness and plasticity will increase accordingly.

Select the appropriate tempering temperature based on the specific use requirements of the component.

Tempering time is usually determined based on the size of the part and the tempering temperature.

Generally, tempering time is between 1 - 3 hours.

For example, for quenched C45 steel gears, the tempering temperature can be selected to be around 550°C and the tempering time is 2 hours to obtain a good combination of hardness and toughness.
