Carburizing Steel 20mncr5 Material Chemical Composition Plays A Key Role - China

20MnCr5 material has precise control of composition and excellent wear resistance, balanced strength and toughness, supports high-end equipment from automotive transmission to aircraft engines, and continues to lead the wave of green manufacturing and industrial upgrading through intelligent process optimization.

In terms of chemical composition, the carbon content of 20MnCr5 material is controlled between 0.17% and 0.22%.

This design not only ensures the basic strength of the steel matrix, but also promotes the precipitation of uniform and fine carbides during heat treatment, thereby improving the surface hardness and wear resistance of the material.

The upper limit of silicon content is not more than 0.4%, which plays a deoxidation role in the smelting process, while improving the fluidity of the melt and making the metallographic structure more uniform during solidification.

The manganese content is 1.1% to 1.4%, and its main function is to synergize with carbon to form a strengthening phase, thereby improving impact resistance and fatigue resistance, so that the material can better disperse stress when subjected to dynamic loads.

The chromium content is controlled between 1% and 1.3%, which gives the steel excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, and can form a dense protective layer under high temperature conditions to delay the aging of parts.

The strictly controlled phosphorus (≤0.025%) and sulfur (≤0.035%) contents effectively inhibit the formation of brittle inclusions, ensuring the uniformity of the structure during heat treatment and the stability of the overall material properties.
