DIN 1.2714 steel is a hot working die steel with a high Cr content and high hardenability.

When quenched, martensite structure can be obtained by air cooling.

The C content is low-medium carbon to ensure the hardness of the steel after quenching and tempering, while giving the steel good thermal conductivity and high impact toughness; secondary hardening occurs during high-temperature tempering, which improves wear resistance, thermal fatigue resistance, oxidation resistance and impact toughness while obtaining high tempering stability.

(1) After quenching and tempering, DIN 1.2714 steel has good comprehensive performance, uniform and dense structure, high wear resistance and thermal fatigue resistance, and small deformation.

However, if a carbon-poor layer appears on the surface of the steel, even if the decarburized layer is very thin, it will significantly damage the fatigue resistance of the die steel.

The quenching temperature is 830~870℃.

The steel has good comprehensive performance at about 600℃, low heat treatment deformation rate, and its performance and service life are higher than 3&2W8V.
