T1 High Speed Steel Chemical Composition

T1 high speed steel contains a large amount of W element.

The addition of tungsten can significantly improve the hardness, thermal stability and wear resistance of T1 high-speed steel, making it suitable for application fields such as high-speed cutting and cold work molds.

It may also contain small amounts of other elements such as nickel (Ni), cobalt (Co) and niobium (Nb), and control of these chemical compositions can adjust the steel’s properties to some extent.

T1 High Speed Steel Properties

Excellent hardness and wear resistance: After quenching and tempering, the hardness of T1 tool steel can reach 61-66HRC, and the addition of tungsten and molybdenum can improve its wear resistance, which makes it suitable for processing high hard materials and perform heavy-duty cutting.

Excellent cutting performance: It can maintain stable cutting performance under high temperature and high-speed cutting conditions, effectively extending the service life and production efficiency of the tool.

Excellent hardenability: The addition of tungsten and molybdenum improves the hardenability of T1 steel, allowing it to form a uniform martensite structure at a faster quenching speed.

Good high temperature resistance: It can maintain good thermal stability and thermal fatigue resistance at high temperatures, and can resist high temperature softening and deformation.

Good toughness: Appropriate heat treatment improves its toughness, has high fracture toughness and impact resistance, can withstand large impacts and vibrations during cutting, and improves the service life of the tool.

In addition, it also has excellent durability, long service life, good rigidity and corrosion resistance, good resistance to plastic deformation, etc.
