DIN 1.7035 steel heat treatment characteristics

Quenching: The quenching temperature of DIN 1.7035 steel is generally between 850-880℃.

The quenching process can make the steel obtain high-hardness martensitic structure, which provides a basis for subsequent tempering treatment.

However, the cooling rate during quenching needs to be controlled well.

Too fast cooling rate may cause defects such as cracks in the workpiece.

Tempering: The tempering temperature of DIN 1.7035 steel is usually in the range of 550-650℃.

The purpose of tempering is to eliminate the internal stress generated by quenching, stabilize the structure, and adjust the relationship between the hardness, strength and toughness of the steel.

Through tempering, 1.7035 steel can obtain good comprehensive mechanical properties.
