The mechanical properties of steel NS 312 are as follows:

Tensile strength: When tested at 20℃, the minimum tensile strength is 585MPa; some data show that the tensile strength is in the range of 868～591MPa.

Yield strength: At 20℃, the minimum yield strength is 240MPa; some data give the yield strength ≥985σ0.2/MPa.

Elongation: At 20℃, the minimum elongation is 30%; some data show that the elongation is ≥85δ5 (%).

Brinell hardness: Usually the Brinell hardness is ≥217 (at 20℃).

In addition, steel NS 312 also has good hot and cold processing properties.

It can be strengthened after cold processing and can be connected by a variety of welding methods, such as arc welding, argon arc welding, resistance welding and brazing.

The average grain size of the alloy is closely related to the degree of deformation of the forging and the final forging temperature.

The alloy has satisfactory hot strength and high plasticity below 700℃.
