SNCM220 steel plate is a nickel-chromium-molybdenu m alloy carburizing steel, which is widely used in the manufacture of high-strength and high-wear-resistant mechanical parts, such as gears, bearings, camshafts, etc.

The main purpose of its carburizing and quenching process is to improve wear resistance through surface hardening while maintaining core toughness.

Carburizing treatment

- **Temperature control**: 850～930°C

- **Atmosphere control**: CO+H₂+CH₄ mixed atmosphere

- **Time**: Carburizing depth is generally controlled at 0.8～2.5mm, and the time is adjusted according to application requirements

- **Cooling**: Slowly cool to about 600°C to reduce internal stress Quenching

- **Heating temperature**: 850～880°C (austenitizing)

- **Cooling medium**: Oil quenching (generally) or salt bath cooling
