Wire-meshs or Meshpads are used to separate liquid from gas phase.
Wire
Mesh mist extractors are made by knitting wires into tightly packed
layers which are stacked to achieve the thickness needed.
They are
installed horizontally in vessels with gas stream flowing vertically
upwards through the pad.
Meshpads can be installed in both vertical and
horizontal vessels.
It is however, not recommended for dirty services as
plugging may happen causing the reduction in separation efficiency.
