1, Preparation for the sample

1, Choose sample from the same lot, no less than 10 groups；

2, Get regulated sample with 25×80mm through standard cutter, the direction of the fluting should be the same with the short side, and the deviation of the sample size is within ±1mm.

（make sure to sample the no-damaged part in the middle）.

2, Test steps

1) First make sure whether the testing surface is surface paper or bottom paper, if it’s the surface paper of the paperboard, please inset the suitable long pins into the corrugated holes close to the surface paper in turn, makes the long pins are separated by corrugated holes close to surface paper.

2) Inset the short pins in return (just like) into the corrugated holes close to the surface paper from other side of the sample.

3) Put the upper supporter horizontally on the desk, place the sample with pins in the centre of the upper supporter, with the test surface up, and keep the short pins on the tooth space of the upper supporter, with one short pin in the slot, and the long pin can be on the tooth space accordingly.

4) Then turn over the upper supporter and sample with pins together, place them in the centre of the lower supporter, and the test surface down this time, the long pins on the lower supporter but the short pins are not on the lower supporter.

5) Prepare the device and place them between the low and upper panel of the ring and edge crush tester, start the tester to press the accessory with sample with speed of (12.5±2.5)mm/min until the corrugated paper peak separate from surface paper.

Record the displayed max value, accurate to 1N.

6) Test the other groups according to the 1-4 steps, and record the result.

Calculate average value, then calculate the adhesion strength of corrugated paper as per the following formula:
