What is steel wire rod used for？
wire rod is a rolled steel product (alloy or non-alloy) made from semi-finished steel in rectangular, round, hexagonal or square shapes.

steel wire is a finished product that is cold formed before processing.
although shapes vary, most are produced in coils.
diameters are typically between 5 and 15 mm, and most conform to iso standards, so sizes can easily be increased in increments of 1 mm to 20 mm.
all steel wire must be free of any breaks when it is produced as coils.
this is to ensure that the steel wire is ready for further processing (usually by heat treatment, coating and cleaning).
coils typically have an inner diameter of 810 to 910 mm and an outer diameter of 1100 to 1300 mm (depending on the capacity of the rolling mill equipment).
