Thallium doped cesium iodide, CsI( TI) , is one of the brightest
scintillators, which has wide application in radiation detection, high
energy physics, safety inspection and geological exploration.
Its
maximum emission peak was at 550nm, can be matched well with photodiode,
thus the read- out system was simplified significantly.
EPIC growed cesium iodide crystal by using modified bridgman method, with super pure 99.999% cesium iodide( CsI) raw material and appropriate content of thallium iodide( TII) , toxygen scavenger was used as well reacting with oxide impurities at high temperature, ensured the growing environment without the existing of oxygen, which was great helpful for the growth of high purity crystal
